Twitter has been valuable for me in a number of ways -- it's helped me find sources for stories, and it has even gotten me several new clients! I think the key for anyone using Twitter is to decide if it's a positive experience for you, just as you do with any relationship. Personally, I have had to become more disciplined in how I use it so that I don't get into a huge time suck. But it's had a payoff, both personally and professionally for me.
