They usually have info. about a Newcomer's Group (those who have moved into town within the last 6 months or so) and this group usually meets once or twice a month. Great networking tool as well as informational resource! It's also good for the newcomer to ask for a Welcoming Package (from the COC, most often free but sometimes there is a charge), where they can get all sorts of great info. about local businesses, apartments, houses, banks, events as well as coupons for everything from restaurants to dry cleaning. Also, Chamber of Commerces usually know of various Associations who may meet monthly (in the building), and these Associations may either have 1) a notebook with all the businesses names/contacts in it for you to peruse right there; or 2) a notebook for you to put your resume in so they can review it at their monthly meetings.
